JOB DESCRIPTION:
Conduct a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that software meet or exceed specified standards and end user requirements. Participate in software development process improvement and compliance to successfully and consistently deliver high-quality software products and services on time, on budget, and to specification, enabling flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet the needs of the business. Enhance QA methodology and ensure compliance by working with management to improve quality and process standards that result in on-time and efficient delivery of systems. Perform quality assurance and testing in an environment that typically uses state-of-the-art software applications testing processes (i.e., testing "clean room") but may also include manual QA/Testing. Draft, revise and approve test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and IT strategy. Create test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow. Collaborate with users to plan user acceptance testing, alpha and beta testing. Ensure that system tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved. Develop, revise and approve quality assurance and testing policies, standards and procedures. Cooperate in the enhancement of the methodologies employed for test planning and execution, defect tracking, and metric and status reporting. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices. Maintain framework for record retention in order to support internal and external IT audits. Assist with process improvement and compliance to successfully and consistently deliver high-quality software products and services on a timely basis. Work across teams to enhance quality functional testing by identifying and helping to implement initiatives that will improve capability and efficiency. Perform other duties as needed.REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field required.2 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.Also required is: 2 years of experience: developing complex web applications using AngularJS and Typescript, and building RestFull services using Java Spring Boot; working with AWS cloud, hosted Rest API’s in ECS, ALB, and RT53 with an RDS as the backend, and migrated on-prem Spring Batch applications into AWS Cloud environment; performing test automation using Cucumber, Selenium, RestAssured, Java Spring Boot, and Cypress; writing complex SQL, PLSQL to perform CRUD operations in Oracle system; using Maven and Gradle for packaging projects; using New Relic, Splunk and Kibana for monitoring data traffic; driving innovation in support of continuous integration, delivery, and deployment including testability of code, test automation strategy and methodology; performing agile software development across projects to deliver shippable set of functionalities through each iteration, while responding to rapidly changing requirements, and coordinating the work of others along multiple work streams; and gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements, procedures, and problems to improve and automate existing systems and create business workflows.Employee reports to Elsevier, Inc. office in Philadelphia, PA but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.Experience can be concurrent.#LI-DNI
