Role Summary
The Quantitative Researcher combines advanced AI and quantitative investing techniques to enhance and support our fundamental investment process. Working alongside experienced analysts and portfolio managers, this role will help deliver innovative, data-driven insights that inform better investment decisions. This is an opportunity to be part of a team deeply engaged in pioneering AI research and modern quantitative approaches, collaborating directly with our fundamental research platform on initiatives that help shape the future of the firm’s investment strategies.
Responsibilities
Build Strategic Relationships with Stakeholders:
Develop and maintain strong, consultative relationships with fundamental analysts and portfolio managers (PMs)Seek to understand each stakeholder's investment framework, objectives, and decision-making approachServe as a valued partner, identifying opportunities where quantitative techniques, alternative data, and/or AI can add meaningful value to their processDeliver Research-Backed Insights and Consultation:
Conduct independent, high-quality research integrating quantitative and AI techniquesAuthor clear, insightful research reports that communicate complex findings effectively for both technical and non-technical audiencesRespond to ad-hoc data requests while also initiating value-add projects independentlyProactive Research & Recommendations:
Anticipate and identify areas where quantitative analysis could inform or enhance current investment thesesPush relevant research and portfolio reviews proactively to analysts and PMs, supplementing their ongoing decision-making processPresent research and recommendations confidently in meetings and formal presentations to the investment teamFacilitate Integration of Quantitative Insights and AI:
Foster adoption and integration of quantitative techniques into the fundamental investment processWork collaboratively across teams (Integrated Equity, Fixed Income, Multi-Asset Research, Data Science, Technology) to deliver solutions when necessaryEnsure clear communication and successful project delivery between quantitative and fundamental research groupsSuccess Measures:

Required:
B.S. in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field)Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, blending both quantitative rigor and qualitative judgmentAdvanced proficiency in programming languages (R, Python, and SQL) plus experience applying these to research and modeling in an investment contextOutstanding written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to present complex quantitative concepts to diverse audiencesStrong interpersonal, relationship-building, and collaborative skills; team-oriented with a high degree of professionalismPreferred:
M.S. or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline3+ years of experience applying quantitative and AI methods in an investing or financial settingFamiliarity with dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Shiny / Posit Connect)CFA charter/candidate, or commitment to obtaining oneExperience leveraging LLMs programmatically for research purposesDesired Personal Attributes:

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.

$110,000.00-$175,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers$110,000.00-$175,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$110,000.00-$175,000.00 for the location of: New York, California
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
