Quantitative Systems Pharmacology Modeling Summer Intern

We are seeking PhD students majoring in Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field for a 12-Week Student Intern role to be working in Gaithersburg, MD for a May 19th - August 8th contract period.

Position Duties:

Develop a quantitative systems pharmacology model for an oncology application.

Incorporate experimental data into the model and use model simulation to answer research questions.

Communicate research findings in oral and poster presentations.

Position Requirements:

PhD students majoring in Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2025.

Strong mathematical background and hands on experience of modeling with ODEs is required.

Some coding experience is required (any language).

Coding experience with MATLAB is strongly preferred.

Experience of mathematical modeling of biological systems is preferred.

Knowledge of oncology modeling is a plus.

Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.

US Work Authorization is required at time of application.

This role will not be providing OPT support.

Ability to report onsite to Gaithersburg, MD for 3-5 days a week. This role will not provide relocation assistance.

Minimum grade point average of 3.0
