R&D Analytical Intern - FONA

McCormick & Company, Incorporated is seeking a full-time R&D Analytical Intern at McCormick FONA located at 1900 Averill Road, Geneva, IL.  This is a 10-week internship (June 2 - August 8, 2025) which requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Analytical Intern to join our Research & Innovation team. This role is ideal for a candidate who is actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in chemistry or food chemistry. The intern will be responsible for assisting our team in the development of new and novel flavor-related technology.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the research and development of flavor characterization technologies. Learn and operate gas chromatographs and mass spectrometers for product development and commercialization. Perform wet chemistry and instrumental analysis of food products containing flavoring ingredients. Support flavor chemists on the development of new and novel flavor systems. Conduct research in the area of natural product chemistry.

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in chemistry or food chemistry. Demonstrated interest in research and innovation, particularly in the area of flavor science and characterization of flavor profiles through the use of instrumental analysis. Ability to collaborate effectively with various functional groups within the organization. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a dynamic work environment.
