KBR is seeking a R&D Architect Support Engineer/Systems Engineer. This position will serve as a technical member of a dynamic systems engineering team supporting the Government customer. The candidate will support the Applied Research & Development (R&D) acquisition, integration and test initiatives with a specific focus area. Specifically, the candidate will support pathfinding and transition of applications and mission capabilities to the operations environment for Multi-Intelligence hard intelligence problems.

Mission: Provide Day-to-Day collaboration with the Government Customer, FFRDC teams, SETA and GED development contractors as well as External Agency mission partnersRequirements: Provide oversight, monitor development and integration activities and ensure alignment of priorities and resources consistent with US Government requirements and objectivesProjects: Analyze a wide variety of mission thread projects for impact on the existing and planned system architectureSystems: Assist in ensuring decisions about AGG R&E Systems are consistent with an open-architecture constructAcquisition: Advise Senior and mid-level US Government managers on acquisition decisions regarding a portfolio of AGG projectsBriefings: Support technical consultation, meeting coordination, and prepare and present architecture and acquisition recommendation briefingsDocumentation: Establish and maintain the System View-1 (SV-1) Systems Interface Description document baseline linking together the operational and systems architectureIC: This position requires an understanding of the intelligence community and customer domain, along with a strong focus on core systems engineering processes in support of end-to-end mission and services closureWork Environment:

Security Clearance Requirements: TS/SCI with Polygraph requiredEducation: B.S. in engineering, physics or related technical degree or relevant experienceSpace and Ground: Experience in space/ground aerospace systems engineeringArchitecture: Knowledge of system architectures, architecture evolution and interface definitionSystems: Demonstrated knowledge of Ground SystemsTesting: At least 35 years’ experience with space/ground testing and systems engineering, systems integration, Verification, Validation and Transition (IVV&T) activitiesAgile: Experience supporting agile software development and verification strategies and integration of new systems and initiatives in support of expanded mission capabilitiesAnalyze: Experience with test strategies and plans, executing tests, analyzing data and summarizing resultsDesired:
Agile: Experience with architecting in an agile software development paradigmMBSE: Demonstrated understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)Integration: Ability to perform architecture analysis, trades, and system integration closure activitiesIC: Experience within an acquisition office or related Intelligence CommunityMission Processing: Prior experience with ground mission processing or mission control systems, and/or mission operations is highly desiredIVV&T: Experience with commercial IVV&T techniques in service-oriented architecture (SOA) environments is also highly desirableCommunication: Experience interacting with User Community across a wide variety of intelligence and phenomenology disciplinesReady to Make a Difference?
