**Job Description:**
We are searching for the best talent for the Director of Development for New Product Introduction to be in Cincinnati, OH.
**Purpose:**
The Ethicon Endomech and Energy Platform is seeking a Director of Development for New Product Introduction to help deliver the Standard of Care in intra-op surgical complications in the areas of stapling and energy delivery in bariatrics, thoracic and colorectal specialties.
**You will be responsible for:**
+ Lead a diverse team of engineers to develop equipment and components to support our strategic global pipeline of holistic product solutions.
+ Drive evolution of technical capabilities in component and equipment design and qualification to support development of a new product pipeline in conventional stapling, energy delivery and accessories (e.g. trocars, clip appliers) and other mechanical delivery devices
+ Partner with Supply Chain on the pipeline and is a member of the Platform R&D Leadership Team.
+ Shape new product development operating models to help lead the organization through the evolution from a technology-centric model to a customer-centric solution driven model.
+ Ensure the pipeline is comprised of balanced (short-long term, incremental-disruptive, internal-external) opportunities.
+ Leads a team of engineers to ensure technical programs are risk-mitigated, error-proofed to ensure execution to commitments.
+ Accountable for leading the pipeline to market from proof of principle through manufacturing scale up and stabilization phases.
+ Accountable for shaping new product development operating models.
+ Responsible for accelerating speed to market for new product launches.
+ Responsible for developing new technical capabilities to support development of new stapling and energy delivery devices.
+ Responsible for identifying, partnering, and executing through unique external partnerships.
**Qualifications/Requirements:**
+ Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Science in a technical field. Advanced degree preferred.
+ Minimum of 10 years experience in high automation and assembly equipment in support of a regulated industry.
+ Strong hands-on experience in designing and engineering equipment, with a track record of driving development beyond specification and vendor management.
+ Proven record of leading diverse teams and a track record in developing capabilities along new trajectories for an organization to be successful in the future.
+ Demonstrated successful engagement with external partners to augment internal capabilities and/or resources.
+ Experience in at least one of the following areas: PLC, logic control, vision systems, software (including cyber security).
+ Travel: Anticipated travel for this position is up to 10% (domestic and international).
+ Experience in Project Management.
+ Demonstrated experience in accelerating innovation.
+ Experience in designing, building, and iterating on equipment, making key technical decisions throughout the process.
+ Proven ability in nurturing talent and establishing a robust pipeline of skilled individuals to ensure the future succession of the platform.
