The Waygate Technologies site in Skaneateles, NY specializes in Remote Visual Inspection equipment, with our industrial borescope leading the world with our measurement capability. A typical application would use our borescopes to peer inside the combustion chamber of a jet engine to locate and measure a dent, crack, or other defect to within several thousandths of an inch! Everything is located right in NY, from R&D, manufacturing, software development, and repair leading to constant collaboration between teams.

As a R&D Electrical Engineer, you will be a part of a team that develops and tests the most advanced hand-held remote visual inspection (RVI) equipment in the world.  Work entails design, development, and test of circuits for our industrial borescopes.

As a R&D Electrical Engineer-Hardware, you will be responsible for:

Design and develop the electrical systems for our world-class video borescopes.Develop electrical architectures and detailed electrical designs, mainly through circuit board design in the Altium toolset. The primary design challenges are low noise, high bandwidth circuitry, lowest reasonable power, wired and wireless connectivity, digital signal processing, and other typical battery-operated system paradigms. We also develop robust designs for the exclusive use of our factories.Devise and execute cross-functional (HW, SW, Mechanical) experiments to alleviate high-risk portions of designs, thereby enabling programs to launch on time.Develop and execute electronic manufacturing tests to ensure a high-quality product delivery to our mission-critical customer base.Document products and technical data generated consistent with engineering policies and procedures.As a part of a project team on execute activities including troubleshooting, validation, testing, experimentation, and test reporting.Mentor junior engineers (dependent on experience level)Work with production engineering and production associates in real-time resolution of hardware issues.

To be successful in this role you will:

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related engineering degree from an accredited college or universityExperience in Circuit board design and layout.Experience in Circuit board test and creation of automated test protocolsInterest and capability to do limited software development in C/C++ or Python as needed to support experiments or microcontroller implementationsProficient in the analysis of discrete and integrated analog circuits, digital logic designProficient in the use of common laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes and network analyzers

The annual pay scale for this position is $73K-$135K USD if employed in New York

The annual pay scale for this position is between $73,200.00 - $135,900.00.

Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes’ good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position.
