Saint-Gobain’s North American R&D center is looking for a talented and experienced R&D electrical engineer to join our CertainTeed R&D Solar Platform team in leading and executing technical work to advance the team's mission of creating new business through new product and service development. Projects will focus on product development activities related to CertainTeed’s BIPV (building integrated photovoltaics).

Main Functions and Responsibilities:

Determine and manage electrical requirements for BIPV from business requirements Be able to determine the scope of the work, plan, and execute with minor supervision from concept to product validation Responsible for the design of electrical components for the BIPV system that meet installation, maintainability, reliability, and electrical requirements Bench and developmental scale prototyping Responsible for preparing system documentation, work instructions, Final Acceptance Test (FAT) instructions, and operation and maintenance Manual. Test for compatibility of off-the-shelf components, analyze results, and make product selections based on system requirements Responsible for NEC code compliance and UL certification for all electrical components
