R&D Engineer
Our Client, a Medical Device And Healthcare company, is looking for a R&D Engineer for their Plymouth, MN location. Responsibilities: + Responsible for providing engineering support in the creation and the development of new medical device products (invasive and non-invasive). Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. + Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment. + Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality. + Develops new concepts from initial design to market release. + Directs support personnel and coordinates project activities. + Write and submit intellectual property (patents). + Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development. + Investigates and evaluates existing technologies. + Reviews or coordinates vendor activities to support development. + Write and submit professional articles for technical journals. + Research various cost-effective, alternative approaches to current processes. Requirements: + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical or related Engineering degree + 1-2+ years engineering experience required in regulated field + 1-2+ years’ experience in med device + Exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes used in medical devices, specifically deflectable sheaths and/or EP Catheters preferred + Familiarity with ultrasound, catheter ring-on-wire electrodes, magnetic location systems, and catheter manufacturing techniques + Worked with an electronic document control system (Windchill, etc.) + SolidWorks or other CAD experience + Experience working within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment + Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization + Looking for someone with E2 level experience with Med Device (specifically catheters) highly preferred + Hands on electrical/mechanical experience + Sustaining project team – 10 people on team currently + Test method development team – how to design catheter, test, submit for regulatory approval, etc. + Good problem-solving skills, initiative to want to learn, resourcefulness, good communication, good strategizing skills, navigating complexities Why Should You Apply? + Health Benefits + Referral Program + Excellent growth and advancement opportunities As an equal opportunity employer, ICONMA provides an employment environment that supports and encourages the abilities of all persons without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or express, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability status, political affiliation, genetics, marital status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
