This position reports to

R&D Department Lead

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.•\tCreates mechanical designs as 3D models for both assemblies and single parts.•\tDerives 2D drawings and implements them into the required tools.•\tDerives Bill Of Material (BOM) and implements them into the required tools.•\tCreates images required for internal and external documents as well as software tool front end screens.•\tSource and reviews prototype parts/ 0-series.•\tExecutes mechanical calculations resulting in input for guidelines and/ or mechanical designs (e.g. air flow calculation, force calculation, electrical device coordination, etc.).•\tIs a technical author for internal and external manufacturing documentation in English

Qualifications for the role

\tMechanical background, 35 years working experience.\tMaster and relevant industry experience are preferred.\tExcellent skill at Solidworks and Auto-CAD is required.\tBasic electrical knowledge.\tGood English skill.\tStrong analytical and problem solving skills.\tGood communication and documentation skills. \tFamiliarity with the relevant IEC standard is desirable
