Your role and responsibilities

We are looking to appoint an R&D Engineer for ELSP (Smart Power) Business at our site in Bloomfield, CT to support NEMA Safety switch Develop & Care (D&C) Agile TEAM in NAM Construction & Infrastructure (NAM C&I) Agile Unit. Displaying strong leadership skills and demonstrable experience in technical fundamentals, quality, safety and compliance, and new product introduction implementation. In this position, you will implement creative, innovative products solutions to provide value to customers, and win in the market. This position requires a high degree of flexibility as well as analytical and interpersonal skills. Identifies, proposes, and implements innovative technology, software and/or solutions by contributing with own ideas. Works independently as a member of an R&D team.The work model for the role is: onsite (#Li-Onsite) This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division in Bloomfield, CT.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tWorking as an independent and reliable contributor in R&D projects with limited supervision.•\tPerforming various tasks in the assigned area (e.g., mechanics, electronics, thermal, software), from building concepts, gathering requirements to designing, implementing, integrating, testing, technology transfer or maintenance, and operations.•\tUnderstanding and applying applicable processes, standards, guidelines, and requirements, including architectural and design constraints.•\tDriving the achievement of assigned targets (quality, time, scope, cost) and raising and addressing risks.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor’s degree, or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical power or similar with minimum of 2+ years’ experience (experience in development of products & its solutions in Electrical distributions is preferred).Experience in manufacturing implementation of new and modified designs.Expertise in product and solution level testing desired and experience on working with Global test labs and Certification agency. Experience with design and product documentation, Creo and Windchill preferred.Proven ability to analyze test data and solve design issues.Experience defining, designing, and integrating cost effective, compliant solutions and experience working with standards and standards compliance.Track record executing product design projects in teams and individually.Experience with Switches, Transfer switches, Automatic transfer switches, electrical panelboards, circuit breakers, or similar products or other Electro-Mechanical design and testing experienceExperience in testing, DoE, and data analysis, knowledge of certification standards for electrical equipment (UL, IEC, IEEE) and proven record of engineering analysis and design execution success.LEAN/Six Sigma - Green Belt certified preferred
