Join our innovative and globally operating team as a R&D Engineer (f/m/d) Assay Development within the Point of Care Research Early Development department. We are dedicated to developing cutting-edge diagnostic solutions, working closely with teams from R&D, diagnostic production, business development, and life cycle teams.
Your key responsibilitiesDevelop and evaluate new test formats for point-of-care as well as diagnostic tests for immunology chemistry (IC) and clinical chemistry (CC) based on electrochemical and/or optical detection independently.Conduct experimental feasibility studies to assess new assay formats, including statistical data analysis and curve fitting.Contribute to the development and characterization of dry chemical and liquid formulations for immunology and clinical chemistry, as well as interface tasks such as test carrier development.Handle the preparation and manipulation of human sample materials for referencing and characterization.Work independently on work packages and conduct literature and patent research.Your ProfileSuccessfully completed a natural or engineering sciences degree (M.Sc.) in biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry, biomedicine or similar. Experience in research and development of IVD assays, with knowledge of assay development using optical detection for point-of-care diagnostics.Experience in development of dry chemical formulations for microfluidic test carriers and test strips.Experience with automated liquid dispensing techniques Ability to evaluate assay performance in terms of sensitivity and precision, as well as experience in handling human samples and their manipulation.Strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and a confident demeanor and proficiency in written and spoken English due to our international focus.Experience working with electrochemistry, quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and/or surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is preferred.This position is limited to two years.Your applicationWe make things easier for you: Please upload only your current and compelling CV and your certificate of your highest degree.
