R&D Team Lead

Your role and responsibilities

Being responsible for technical and scientific proficiency and leadershipDemonstrating solid technical proficiency in own competence area by performing a variety of technology/engineering assignments, mainly in research and development (R&D) contactor projects, which demonstrates independent ability to recognize problems and provide input to solutionsUnderstanding the key business drivers for ABB in order to make judgments and contribute to resultsContributing to R&D projects with own, creative ideas. Proposes follow-up projects and activities within own technical area based on new ideasBeing a solid R&D project member and contributor, with experience as project or sub-project leader, ensures alignment with assigned targets (time, cost, quality) and coordinates activities. Demonstrates sound understanding of, and actively applies, R&D processes and toolsMaintaining awareness of state-of-art technology, as well as ABB products and technologies, and identifies and understands technical drivers for R&D projects in own area. Understanding what creates customer value in own R&D projects and project portfolio of own organization and works to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction according to incoming requests. Provides consulting services to business operations and customersParticipating constructively in working teams. Shares own technical/scientific knowledge in own projects and supporting colleagues in applying processes and tools to ensure timely and high quality results. Shows solid documentation skills and writes technical reports independentlyParticipating in networks in own area, including relevant Engineering networks, in order to further knowledge in targeted area of expertise.

Qualifications for the role

BS in mechanical/electrical engineering with min. 5 years’ experience or MSc in mechanical/electrical engineering with minimum 2 years’ experience in R&DFamiliar with design and simulation of electromagnetic system for product, such as contactor, relayProficient in electrical application and test for low voltage devices and systemGet experience of low voltage electrical system coordination designFamiliar with design validation procedure of new productFamiliar with the common used engineering materials: plastic and metallic and related manufacturing / processing Knows the relationship of standards and products, and drafting verification program according to standards Proficient in CAD, e.g. AutoCAD, UG or Pro-E, and MS office. Knows the simulations such as structure and thermal, etc. Apply the simulations in the design Capable of reading and express technical solutions in English Good communication and teamwork skillsForeign enterprises R&D experience is preferred.
