Job Description:This is a quality engineer position in the VMkernel I/O team at VMware by Broadcom. This team is part of VCF division and is responsible for enablement of emerging I/O and server platform technologies in vSphere. Areas of current focus new server platform and various protocol drivers. We also work very closely with ecosystem partners to enable Day 0 solutions. Responsibilities
Design, implement and execute test plan against various I/O components (network driver/storage driver/server platform)Analyze feature requirements and create new test cases to validate new featuresDeploy and maintain CI/CD infrastructureDevelop test scenarios by working closely with developers and product managersFind product defect, validate fixes, follow up to closureAnalyze and troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systemsJob Requirements
Proficient coding skills in Python on Linux platform6+ years of experience in software development and quality engineering (proven strong automation skill is a big plus)Knowledge of devops tool like Jenkins, github, review board, JIRA, etc.Good understanding of the main operating system concepts: networking/storage stack, drivers, file systems, hardware, CPU, Memory etc.Familiarity with one of the major server virtualization platforms is a plusStrong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills with ability to work independentlyB.S/M.S degree in Computer Science or equivalentBroadcom is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
