R&D Engineering, Staff Engineer
We are seeking a talented R&D engineer, with expertise in scientific computing and software development, who will join the Synopsys TCAD team to develop Python/C++ infrastructure for physics-based simulation platforms, including fast and accurate simulation of nano-scale semiconductor devices, interconnects and circuits consisting of many interconnected devices.

Our Sentaurus line of products are used by semiconductor corporations, research institutions, and universities worldwide to design and simulate next generation semiconductor chips used in consumer products (phones, cameras, cars, etc.).

Primary responsibilities include the design and implementation of Python/C++ API components, designing and re-factoring C++ libraries for efficiency, and building framework for high performance PDE solvers.

You will be joining a high-performing and collaborative R&D culture with diverse expertise, experience and interests in software development and scientific computing, and will enjoy a creative and international work environment.

Requirements:PhD or MS in Computer Science, Engineering or Applied MathematicsStrong design/programming skills in C++ and PythonStrong background in High Performance Algorithms and Data Structures
Preferences: One or more of the following:Parallel programming (TBB, OpenMP, MPI)Experience with build systemsExperience with containers, cloud native codingCAD modelingBackground in computational geometry and applied mathematics

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $114,00-$170,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
