A Day in the Life:
Your tasks and responsibilities will be diverse and exciting, with the opportunity to engage in development projects across multiple sites worldwide. As a technical as well as team-leading manager of a highly skilled engineering team you will help develop mechanics and electrics, assemblies, and components for our sophisticated Life Science Mass Spectrometers.The project work includes all areas related to collaborative planning, setup, execution, and documentation of the Engineering Design. This involves resource and budget planning as well as aligning team priorities to the business needs and roadmaps within our global organization.You will have opportunity to deal with the collaborative development of concepts and long-term plans for the Engineering and Technical Design for current and future products including product lifecycle management. In this regard you will join discussions and help define hardware requirement specifications for new products in partnership with the project R&D team, including design specifications in terms of quality, manufacturability, cost, and compliance with standards and regulations. Furthermore, you will be able to closely interact globally with other R&D teams to align on the mechanical/electrical interfaces and product features.As a team-leader (10 - 12 engineers) you will engage in regular performance development dialogues with your team members. This includes collaborative goal setting and comprehensive performance evaluations, actively nurturing the growth and advancement of each individual team member.In addition, we will involve you with other engineering and sourcing managers in the strategic selection of suppliers as well as their technical support.Keys to Success
University degree in Engineering, Science, or related fields.3+ years of relevant work experience and extensive expertise in hardware design in a leading position.Professional experience in Product Development Practices, Processes and Tools, preferably in the context of sophisticated analytical instruments.Experience in efficiently leading and inspiring teams is highly valued.Relevant design skills, knowledge of engineering design tools is highly desirable.Agile, creative thinking and a growth mindset, encouraging a culture of continuous learning and improvement, passion to overcome boundaries in science and technology.We are seeking a team leader who excels in open communication and thrives in a collaborative and diverse environment.Motivating personality with an interdisciplinary approach that gets results.Trained to lead and to get decisions for comprehensive tasks.Excellent analytical skills and quick learning, comfortable with a high paced work environment.Proficient in English, knowledge of German is an advantage.What we offer
