Postion Overview:
McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking an Innovation Intern for McFONA R&D. This new hire will work for McFONA, located in Geneva, IL.
This role focuses on the application science of flavoring proactive demos in the Beverage & Health Business segments (Healthcare, Performance Nutrition Beverage, Performance Nutrition Bars, and Beverages). This person will work closely with Marketing, Flavor Creation, Research & Innovation and Sales departments. The Innovation Intern will report to an Innovation Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Product Developers & Technicians with lab tasks / duties Developing basic benchtop application formulas Setting up and screening flavors for evaluation Responsible for the preparation / set-up of raw materials, finished products and retention samples Manage lab inventory of raw materials, snack base, & supplies needed to support daily tasks. Precise lab record / data keeping. Maintain sanitation and lab organization Effectively communicate with related departments on projects and products as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current enrollment as an undergraduate college Junior or Senior in Food Science, Chemistry/Biochemistry, Biology, or Nutrition. Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate complex issues and conduct root cause analysis to resolve problems. Must be able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Highly motivated, self-starter who is a forward-thinking problem solver with a strong work ethic Effective written and verbal communications skills that are clear and concise
