R&D Laboratory Technologist

As part of our Research & Development team, you will join a diverse group of professionals working to develop and improve chemical processes to support facility operational improvements and to enhance military capabilities protecting national security. We are seeking a highly organized and detail oriented individual to support the R&D Analytical team by performing routine and non-routine chemical, physical, and instrumental analysis of materials and products. The R&D Analytical group primarily supports internal R&D Synthesis and Formulation programs, but is also highly utilized for support to the Production, Quality Control, Safety & Environmental groups of the facility. The successful candidate will, independently and/or within a team, collect data, document technical details of analytical methodologies, report and distribute data and findings to project and technical leads within various sectors of the company. Additionally, the successful candidate will support the procurement, setup, operation and maintenance of various types of analytical instrumentation within the laboratories and assist with development of new test procedures and improvements of existing procedures to support both new product development and existing product qualification. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + High School Education or GED and Experience working within a Chemical Laboratory. + Standard computers skills to support data collection, entry and reporting (Microsoft Word & Excel) + Ability to read and comprehend technical documentation and specifications and put them into practice. + Basic writing skills to clearly communicate testing results and parameters. + Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. + Ability to work within a team environment. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + An Associates Degree in Laboratory Technology or related field with prior Chemical Laboratory experience. + Experience with various forms of analytical techniques and instrumentation (including, but not limited to, chromatography, microscopy, spectroscopy, thermal analysis wet-chemistry, and physical property analysis). + Standard computers skills to support data collection, entry and reporting (Microsoft Word & Excel) + Ability to read and comprehend technical documentation and specifications and put them into practice. + Basic technical writing skills to clearly communicate testing results and parameters. + Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. + Ability to work within a team environment. + Previous experience handling, characterizing, formulating or synthesizing energetic materials. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $44640 - $71460 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
