The successful candidate for this position possesses a diverse background including Systems Modeling Language (SysML), SysML tools (such as Cameo System Modeler), modeling large complex software systems, and managing an enterprise model across a geographically diverse team. Candidates should have experience working in a high-paced Agile development environment implementing a large-scale system model with many components and interfaces. This role will be part of a team supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in a research and development effort to prototype and transition an autonomous ISR capability operating at the edge to detect, identify, track, maintain custody of and report on high value targets. Roles and Responsibilities:
Apply MBSE methods to perform requirements analysis, definition, and management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration, verification, validation and interface definition studies of subsystem or system elements.Analyze existing and approved system requirements documentation (Capabilities Development Document, System Requirements Document, etc.)Modify and update system models to reflect current acquisition strategies, technical designs, and system decisionsDefine system use cases, activities, and system behaviors.Produce and deliver MBSE models as supplements to system programmatic documentation including the Acquisition Strategy Plan, Statement of Work, Systems Engineering Plan, Test and Evaluation Master Plan, and othersDevelop system CONOPS, architectures, and interface definitions of complex systems in an MBSE environmentSupport effective transition of existing systems engineering and technical data packages (TDPs) from traditional document-based processes to reusable model-based artifactsSupport management of models and derived work products consistent with project configuration and data management processes and standards.Conduct walkthroughs and formal reviews of system requirements and architecture models developed using SysML and MBSE processesPerform detailed technical analyses for a subsystem or system elementsCollaborate with systems engineering leads as well as domain and discipline subject matter experts (SMEs) to tailor MBSE to project scope and cost and schedule constraints.Translate processes from traditional document-based system engineering efforts to delivery of model-based work products to customersDevelop, review, and update existing and new educational content for Digital Engineering and/or Digital Material Management coursesTeach MBSE concepts and tools and other DMM topics to government and KBR studentsAuthor, review & edit technical guides, documentation, scientific papers, scholarly articles and journalsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
BS Degree in STEM with 5+ years in Autonomy or RPA Systems ExperienceProficient in system modeling using SysML with tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, Capella, Rational Rhapsody, Sparx EA, and Mathworks System Composer.Proven track record in teaching technical courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.OCSMP-MBF Certification (Object Management Group - Certified Systems Modeling Professional – Model Builder – Fundamental) or the ability to obtain it within 12 months of employment.Local to WPAFBDoD Clearance Requirement: SecretDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
