Location/Division Specific Information

The XDB Product Architect will play a meaningful role at Thermo Fisher Scientific R&D unit located in Brno, Czech Republic. This department develops low-volume, complex electron microscopes and sample preparation (SEM-FIB) products for the semiconductor industry.

As XDB Product Architect you will join a hardworking multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will be the technical leader of small dual-beam (FIB-SEM) systems, collaborating with multi-functional partners to ensure successful development of its product portfolio. You are end-to-end responsible for developing innovative, impactful systems and will lead the multi-disciplinary development teams from technical perspective. You will work closely with the project- and program-managers to define the roadmap, detailed technical scope of future products and are the technical owner within one or several product development projects.

Tasks and responsibilitiesTranslate market requirements and customer needs into system requirements, system architecture and system design.Identify key customer values and propose required technology for the portfolio.Define the product roadmap and interconnections with technology and module dependencies.Seek for R&D efficiency by improving re-use of functions from other product lines as well as continuously improve for obsolescence reduction and prevention.As a technical leader within projects, define the project and product in detail together with the Product Manager, Project Manager and specialistsInitiate and guide technical investigation and improvement activitiesWork with business, operations and R&D partners and collaborate with the multi-discipline teamImplement review processes and set clear expectations around the key results of the project.Qualifications

You are value oriented and able to set and act according to priorities at the same time.

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

Typically requires a University Degree in System, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Physics Engineering or related field.Typically requires 10-15 years of work experience in a R&D environment, preferably in a high-tech sector.Consistent track record in leading high-tech engineering projects through a defined project management process. Architecting experience within high-tech R&D environment is a plus.Ability to build consensus among internal and external project collaborators.Strong written and verbal communication skills are required due to the multi-functional nature of this role.Proficient in English language (verbal and in writing)Affinity with Electron Microscopy, system and software engineering.Apply today! http://jobs.thermofisher.com
