The medium voltage switchgear factory in Skien Norway develops and produces ring main units (RMU), compact switchgear (CSG)  used in electrical distribution network (12-36kV).

ABB Electrification is looking for an experienced R&D Project Manager to join our dedicated team focused on product development and sustainability. In this pivotal role, you will lead international, cross-functional projects that shape the future of our medium-voltage switchgear portfolio.

We OfferA key role in a global technology company.Opportunity to influence the development of future electrical products.An inclusive and innovative work environment with high professional standards.An active social environment with “Young at ABB”Excellent development opportunities and flexible working arrangements.Key ResponsibilitiesLead international, cross-functional product development projects for medium-voltage switchgear.Define project scope, deliverables, budget, resources, timeline, and detailed work allocation in close collaboration with key stakeholders.Ensure successful project execution across all phases—including design, prototyping, and testing—while maintaining strict control over project timeline and costs.Oversee all aspects of the project, from strategic planning to hands-on execution, together with your project team.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field. Proven experience as a project manager, ideally within R&D or large-scale development projects. Strong leadership and collaboration skills.Proficiency with project planning tools such as Microsoft Project or similar.Excellent communication skills in English and Norwegian; additional languages are a plus.Comfortable collaborating globally with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.Personal Attributes:Proactive and self-driven.Able to collaborate across disciplines and communicate technical challenges and solutions at all levels of the organization.Goal-oriented and structured in your approach to work.How to Apply
