About us

The R&D team in Middelburg is part of the Agilent Chemistries and Supplies Division focusing on consumables for gas chromatography (GC) and liquid chromatography (HPLC). We are seeking an experienced analytical chemist to join our innovative and dynamic international team. This role demands a high degree of creativity, initiative and self-direction.

Key Responsibilities

Innovative Development: Lead and support the design and development of new and innovative (prep) HPLC columns and related consumables.Product Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations through column loading, analytical testing, column hardware assessment, and application testing.Technology Transfer: Facilitate the transfer of technology from the R&D lab to manufacturing, ensuring a smooth transition from lab prototypes to large scale production.Collaboration: Work closely with the local and global R&D teams, contributing both independently and as part of a team.Documentation: Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks, write production protocols, and prepare research reports. Presenting work to R&D and management.

QualificationsEducational Background: University degree (preferably Master/PhD) in Analytical Chemistry with several years of relevant experience or equivalent experience.Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge in chromatography and analytical chemistry.Technical Skills: Demonstrated hands-on experience in (prep) HPLC chromatography, LC-MS and other related analytical techniques.Problem-Solving: Ability to solve complex chromatographic issues.Communication: Excellent verbal and written experience in English (Dutch is a plus).
