R&D Technology Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will develop a technology roadmap for Meter Combos and AC Disconnects. In collaboration with product management and the cross-functional team, you will drive innovation, sustainability, profitability, and growth. Leading a team of direct reports, you will scope product development, quality, and productivity projects while providing technical support throughout the product lifecycle. Utilizing deep product knowledge, codes/standards expertise, robust design skills, and the ability to identify, breakdown, and abate technical risks will be key to delivering products that meet market needs.Your responsibilities include: •\tDeveloping a product road map of competitive, innovative, sustainable products, with the cross-functional team, and executing technical scope with a team of direct reports.•\tScoping, specifying, and executing the products on this roadmap. Serving as product and subject matter expert to provide technical support to the team and throughout the product lifecycle. •\tEstablishing scope of work for the R&D team, identifying technical risks, establishing project budgets, schedule, and product cost attainment plans, while leveraging the R&D team to deliver competitive products on-time, within budget, and within product cost targets.•\tUsing your technical knowledge, robust product development skills, manufacturing knowledge, and clear communication skills, you will provide technical direction, evaluate technical risks, resolve technical issues quickly, and ensure codes/standards compliance while delivering competitive products to fulfill the roadmap. •\tArticulate a clear development plan and engage leadership and the cross-functional team by providing clear technical direction, guiding and reviewing designs, tracking project status, and leveraging projects to develop your team.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar. 8+ years engineering experience, including experience with product development of industrial and/or electrical products 5+ years of people leadership (direct reports or leadership responsibility) Experience with product qualification, implementing products into production with a demonstrated ability to break down complex cross-functional issues and resolving. Background in Meter Socket Load centers, AC Disconnects or similar, UL 50, 67, 1429, and NEC. Clear communication, strong collaborative skills across functions and within global teams Track record of delivering projects using a structured risk management and product development process. Experience with design software (Creo Preferred), PLM (Windchill preferred, Magnetic simulation, and Thermal Simulation
