R&D Project Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a technical expert for a specific product or system or its components. Each day, you will act as the primary contact in Research and Development (R&D) for (market-facing) Product Management and will support them on product-related issues. You will also showcase your expertise by driving the technical direction of development (e.g. acting as product owner in an agile team) and by organizing product maintenance.The work model for the role is: Hybrid #LI HybridThis role is contributing to the Process Automation Business of Paper/ Process Industry Division in Bangalore.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tIdentify, evaluate, and execute R&D plans for digital portfolio within PI Digital Business line for global process industries customers. •\tOwn the requirements to meet the product demands, make sure that the features developed by scrum team are in line with the identified needs•\tBe part of the development scrum team, work closely with developers to get the productive deliverables from team•\tWorking directly on development tasks; providing technical leadership, coordinating with other resources and creating high quality products within the defined schedules and budgets.

Qualifications for the role

\tBachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field-\tMinimum 10 years of exp in Technical Product Owner of industrial solutions, in digital products and Industry experience (P&P / any process industry)\tSupports strategic technology direction in own organization through own work and by proposing innovative technology development, application and solutions.\tMaintains awareness of state-of-art technology and market trends affecting company products and services and recommends appropriate actions in response\tApplies a variety of accepted scientific principles and technology concepts as well as having the resourcefulness to apply new methodologies and technologies to projects and problems\tActs as project leader or senior project member providing experience and expertise in the execution and use of supporting tools, processes and methods. Manages or co- ordinates major technology/ engineering projects of substantial impact to the Business Unit/Company\tMonitors and develops IP strategies within own area of expertise based on good understanding of IP strategies and competitors’ patents in relevant ABB domains. Actively works to identify and mitigate risks in research and development (R&D) projects and activities.\tFully conversant with agile, scrum methodology. \tExcellent Communication skills and ability to influence both internally and externally.
