R&D Team Lead
Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will support R&D teams with the assembly of development products and to design, program, and print 3D development products based on engineers’ requirements. The ideal candidate for this position has hands on experiences with ASA & PLA 3D materials, Grab-CAD programming language, and 3D printers including the Stratasys-SST 1200, Stratasys-FORTUS 400MC and Stratasys-FORTUS 450MC printers. Performing preventative maintenance and repair of the 3D Printers is a must. Previous experience working in a prototype / development environment fabricating components and interacting closely with engineers and technicians. The work model for the role is: onsite (#Li-Onsite)This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division in Bloomfield, CT.You will be mainly accountable for:• Perform the mechanical assembly of various development products defined by blueprints, specifications, and engineering input. Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex engineering drawings and specifications, the ability to work well under pressure, to handle multiple projects, and to meet deadlines is required.• Fabricate various 3D parts based on information and files provided by engineers, monitor 3D printer operations to ensure proper functioning and quality of prints, load appropriate materials and designs into 3D printers, adjust printer settings as needed, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and modify 3D models if necessary to resolve printing issues.• Make recommendations for improvements to the assembly process to increase efficiency and reduce production costs.
Qualifications for the roleHigh school diploma, technical school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read blueprints is a must. Strong knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is a plus.Ability to read and interpret documents including specifications, drawings, work instructions, safety rules, procedures, manuals, and MSDSs. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
