The company has its own 300-mph test wheel; a technology center; state-of-the-art, fully integrated production facilities recently adding a high-tech mixing plant, with enough capacity to produce not only for Hoosier Racing Tire, but to have the ability to produce rubber for additional entities as well as a model sales and distribution network. Our Hoosier location in Plymouth, IN is seeking R&D Tire Test Lab Technician to join our team.  

Job Description

A job opening is available for a 3rd Shift R&D Tire Test Lab Technician. The Tire Test Lab position is a challenging position that requires training on several machines and various test methods. Test methods consist of both non-destructive and destructive testing of tires to failure.

Tire mounting/ dismountingTire measurement and sectioningHandling of experimental tires for internal and external testingTire uniformity testing (T.U.G)Tire properties/ deflection testing (Tire Load Deflection Machine)X-ray tire inspectionShearography tire inspectionRoad wheel operations- 6 test wheel positions up to 300 mph testing

SCHEDULE

This position will work a 40-hour workweek with a 20-minute paid lunch on the following schedule (eligible for hour shift differential):

Must be available to train on 1st shift, 7am - 3pm until qualified. ( Approximately 6-8 wks.)

2nd Shift Work Schedule, Monday through Friday - 3 p.m. - 11 p.m. 

Hours to be determined with functional schedule based on business needs and machine availability.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Good work attendance (no active disciplinary warnings for attendance).Position requires the ability to handle repetitive lifting and bending of up to 75 lbs.Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.Good written and verbal communication skills.Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision.High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)6+ Months of Manufacturing ExperienceLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
