Job Description:
As part of the Global Finance Organization, the North America Finance Operations Team is established to manage transactional processing services across North America within Sage.
This hybrid role will manage some of the R2R team with a focus on liabilities. This is a multifaceted role with accountability for timely and accurate processing of operational accounting leading into accurate period close/reporting. Also playing a significant role in the completion of statutory and regulatory accounting across North America Entity Structure.
This role is a major contributor being accountable for accurate and high-quality balance sheet completion including relevant R2R controls and governance. This is an exciting role for those who are looking to drive a Finance team of the future with a view to automating processes. Delivering value add services to customers and key stakeholders through innovation & process improvement, which is a key part of the Sage culture and would be needed to ensure the success of the RTR team.
The candidate should have strong technical accountancy skills with a proven history of driving change and continuous improvement. They will be experienced partnering with stakeholder relationships across all levels of an organization with established team leadership and management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Key accountabilities and decision ownership
• Delivering accurate, timely, & informative financials for designated team to RTR Director
• External audits completed with no material adjustments
• Internal audit completion
• Internal partner support through reporting & guiding through accounting principles
• Maintaining partner relationships ensuring all parties received necessary support/information
• Team management, Policy & Agreement enforcement
Key Responsibilities
• RTR Team responsibilities main focus on balance sheet for risk controls, business control framework, system interfaces (multiple area), payroll, accrual, customer acquisition costs, monthly commentary, subsidiary statutory reporting, but role will evolve
• Responsibility for the correct application of IFRS standards and any relevant judgments to technical accounting
• Journal entry review/posting, reconciliation review approval, monthly cycle completed timely
• Monthly review of financial trend analysis during multiple points to ensure proper recording.
• Instigate a service culture and customer service orientation in team
• Lead the development and management of key relationships across the wider Finance team/business partners
• As part of One Sage Finance ensure streamlined, high-quality end to end processes
• Lead and manage the R2R Continuous Improvement Roadmap and contribute to wider Finance and Business Initiatives
• Lead, motivate, develop and manage the R2R team
• Completeness and accuracy of balance sheet with related reviews and governance
• Ensure the team operates within and contributes to Sage internal controls and governance frameworks
• Create work plans, ownership of KPIs, to define team priorities
• Responsibility for the correct application of IFRS standards and any relevant judgments to technical
• Manage a team to drive efficiencies in processes. Coach, train guide as well as establishing goals, hold regular 1:1’s and perform performance reviews when needed
• Provide learning and development opportunities for the team members, including personal development plans, and ensure Sage values are embedded
