Job Summary
Responsible for the quality assurance of the radiation producing apparatus in the department, and treatment records of the patients in the department and verification and/or validation of the treatment plans. Ensures quality assurance of the brachytherapy program. Participates in the educational programs and research programs within the department.

Education
Required: Master's Degree in medical physics, physics, or a closely allied field.

Experience
Required: The physicist will have completed a program which included clinical responsibilities in radiation oncology physics.

Certifications
Required: If the physicist is not certified in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent, the physicist will begin the certification process as soon as possible
