**Job Posting End Date** 02-10-2025 Please note the job posting will close on the day before the posting end date **Job Summary** Perform less complex technical and specialized work in connection with radiological analysis, radiation protection, equipment testing; assist others in performing surveys. **Job Description** + Obtain and prepare in-plant and environmental samples, as directed. + Assist in radiological inspection of turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks and other power plant equipment. + Make required equipment checks and assist in performing tests and preparing related reports, graphs and curves. + Assist in performing radiation, contamination or airborne hazard surveys. + Perform routine radiation and contamination surveys. + Assist with the dispensing, use and collection of routine dosimetry devices. + Operate computer systems for information filing and retrieval. + Assist others in using health physics protective measures such as protective clothing or contamination control procedures. + Record readings on controlling, indicating and recording devices and compare with established standards and specifications. + Erect and remove shielding. + Report irregularities and abnormal conditions. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education requirements: + HS Diploma or GED. + Associate degree in Health Physics is preferred. Work Experience requirements: + Through a combination of education and/or experience must have sufficient knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities listed above as well as the ability to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities of the key job in this family. Required License/Certification: + Must possess a valid driver's license. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: + Successful completion of the Plant Technician Selection System (TECH) test is required for this position. A physical abilities assessment is also required for this position. + Physical demand level is Medium (exerting 20 -50 lbs. of force occasionally or 10 -25 lbs. of force frequently, and an amount up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects). + It is understood that in the performance of most nuclear generating plant duties there will be associated radiation exposure within the limits prescribed by the NRC.
