Responsibilities:
Supervises the daily activities of Radiation Safety Technologists. Assists ARSO, RSO, and MHPs in developing policies and procedures.Receives, surveys, inventories, delivers, and ships radioactive material to end users.Performs audits of radiation laboratories, radiation surveys, bio-assays and air sampling.Performs radioactive waste collection, sampling, processing, monitoring and disposal.Provides in-service training for users of ionizing radiation (staff and non-staff).Provides training to Radiation Safety Technologists.Provides radiation safety support for radiation therapy procedures and for clinical/research use of radioactive material and ionizing radiation.Other duties as assigned.Education:
Associate's degree in engineering, biological sciences or related field required.Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Health Physics or other related field preferred.Certifications:
Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's license (VDL) and obtain and maintain eligibility of insurability as determined by CCF's insurance carriers' requirements to operate CCF vehicles.Depending on department needs, may be required to obtain a Commercial Driver's license (CDL) with hazmat endorsement.Complexity of Work:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
Minimum of two years of progressively relevant experience
Additional, two years of progressively relevant experience may offset the associate's degree requirement.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to wear Level A personal protective equipment.Typical demands require full body motion including ability to lift up to 100 pounds and move up to 400 pounds.The ability to utilize material handling equipment and climb ladders.Personal Protective Equipment:
