Primary Department, Division, or Unit: UHS Radiation Oncology Work Shift and Schedule: This is a per diem position, which means you will work on an as needed, agreed upon basis. Working hours will be assigned by your manager. Compensation Range: $40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience This position is not eligible for benefits. ----- Job Responsibilities: The following duties are performed on Elekta Synergy, CyberKnife and Philips CT Simulator. + Administer radiation treatment of prescribed dose to the designated area to include reproducing patient position and plan parameters for each day of treatment. + Perform patient simulations in collaboration with the radiation oncologist + Fabricate immobilization devices + Capture XVI and/or portal images as outlined in the treatment plan + Measure diode readings as requested by the physician to verify treatment accuracy + Accurately document treatment details and patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) + Schedule patients for treatment and simulation sessions + Ensure accurate charge capture and billing for all procedures performed + Fabricate blocks and cutouts for electron treatments as needed + Perform daily morning warm-up and quality assurance checks on treatment equipment + Alert the physician and nurse to any complications or patient concerns observed during treatment + Operate the CT Big Bore for simulation and radiation planning purposes + Participate in weekly chart rounds, monthly staff meetings, and other assigned departmental meetings + Adhere to department scheduling requirements and demonstrate flexibility to meet patient care needs Position Qualifications: Minimum Required: + Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Radiation Therapy + NYS licensure registration in Radiologic Technology Radiation Therapy, and ARRT Radiation Therapy certification taken within 4 months, and passed within 6 months of employment. + CPR certification within the first three months of hire Preferred: + Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Radiation ----- About United Health Services United Health Services (UHS) is a locally owned, not-for-profit healthcare system in New York’s Southern Tier comprising four hospitals, long-term care and home care services, and physician practices in Broome and surrounding counties.
