Join our team as a Radiation Therapist I, where you will play a vital role in making a difference in the lives of patients and advancing cancer care! Under the guidance of the Radiation Oncologist, you will perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) simulation procedures when applicable, following radiation therapy standards. Your responsibilities will also include delivering radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by physicians, which may involve various procedures such as IMRT, SRS, SBRT, TBI, TBE, HDR, and CT-based simulations. Within this department, you will work with our MRI Linear Accelerator (MRIdian MR Linac made by ViewRay) and our Varian Ethos Machine (Adaptive Intelligence Linac). As a successful candidate, you will:
Deliver a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients of all ages. Operate MRI control console for each patient’s scan, including selection of proper imaging techniques and operates various peripheral hardwareReinforce recommendations given to patient by healthcare professional concerning reaction to treatment and care of radiated area, prevention, or treatment of generalized and local side effectsPerform simulation procedures as prescribed by physician and assist in dosimetry proceduresPerform diagnostic testing on equipment, general maintenance, and quality assurance as is appropriate Experience with Aria is highly preferredQualifications
Your qualifications should include:
High School or equivalentPost High School Vocational/Specialized Training in an accredited Radiation Therapy Education Program0-3 years of related experience, depending on trainingGraduate of an accredited radiologic technology course plus radiation therapy courseLicensed by the California State Department of Health (Certified in Radiation Therapy)Registration by ARRT plus 24 months course in radiologic technologyBLS or CPR (American Heart Associate)Additional Information:
Pay range: $51.23/hr - $66.60 - $81.98/hrSign on bonus eligible for full-timeCity of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.
