Over 45,000 athletes are seen in our clinics every year. The department provides life changing surgeries and management of acute/chronic orthopedic issues. The Sports Medicine Radiographer will be responsible for: + Reviews and evaluates requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations. + Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy. + Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs. + Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA. + Follows Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow. + Practices High Reliability Training. + Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family. + Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application. + Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations. + Participates in departmental and hospital meetings. + Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. + Complies with ETU and HIPAA regulations. + Performing radiology procedures in a busy pediatric Radiology department. + Assuring quality results and communicating the relevance of the results to other health care professionals.
