Job Description
The Radiography Manager is responsible for execution of non-destructive testing (NDT) in support of daily production, test and anomaly investigations. The supervisor is responsible of planning/assigning work to radiology services team members; evaluates and monitors the radiology quality assurance programs to conform with federal and state regulations; implements standards and procedures for processing radiographic film; arranges and monitors the periodic testing of all radiographic and processing equipment with vendors and appropriate federal, state and local regulatory agencies. Responsible Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) RT Level 3Development of new NDT processes and procedures in accordance with customer specs and national standards.Ensure compliance with customer and government regulations.Perform annual system audits on NDT areas and personnel.Provide guidance and expertise to proposals, engineering, and manufacturing as it related to NDT.Comply with company safety requirements, policies, and procedures.Verifying that technicians are competent to conduct their work and have been adequately trained.Owner of relevant internal NDT specifications (CT/KY/CA) including review and update to ensure compliance.Support daily production NDT needs, scheduling and coordinating of products for effective throughput.Lead customer audits as the SME for all three (3) sites. (CT / KY / CA)Responsible for all technician training certifications - Initial, annual and re-certification (5yrs)Coordinate training to eliminate any single point failures.Responsible for all safety training including eye exams.Responsible for overseeing radiation dosimetry badges and maintaining radiation exposure records.Responsible for waste management.Ensure adequate supplies to perform all X-Ray function can be met.Coordinate and maintain good relationships with Trainers / Supply vendors.Capable of justification and execution of large capital projects when equipment purchases are needed.Work with Health & Safety for yearly State certifications.CT- Continue to work with PRI (Performance Review Institute) to host audits for Nadcap CertificationWilling to travel as needed to support audits in KY/CAOversee ECE (Electronics Center of Excellence) X-Ray cabinet maintenance.Provide in house on boarding X-Ray training for all levels.Maintain 5-year plan for CT/ KY/ CA to include- People, process, equipment.Attend training and seminars to continue Level 3. Capable to adjust and assist with anomalies when required.Responsible for Technician performance reviews including tag ups and annual reviews.Goal planning for technicians all sites CT/ KY/ CA.Accessible 24/7 due to locations of plants and safety concerns.Requirements:
Certified Responsible Level 3Proven leadership skills and minimum of 5 years experience managing a team required Preferred hands-on experience with products in a low volume, high mix aerospace environment. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.In-depth knowledge of NDT processes, certifications and required trainingMust be able to effectively communicate with customers and with multiple levels of the organization within a team environment. Excellent verbal and written skills. Experience with, and understanding of, military, aerospace and industry specifications and requirements.
