Radiologic Technical Lead

Inova Fairfax Medical Center is looking for a dedicated Lead Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) to join the team. This role will be Alternating 3-12 hour weekdays 06:15am -7:15 pm with call and holiday. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Lead Radiologic Technologist Job Responsibilities 

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of radiologic principles, theory, anatomy, and pathology processes by utilizing the most appropriate techniques and/or positioning for optimal examinations. Confidently operates radiological equipment in all care settings (i.e. fluoroscopy, trauma, Emergency Department, and the Operating Room). Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding. Operates Imaging and other related equipment according to manufacturers' specifications. Demonstrates the proper technique for injection of IV contrast under the American College of Radiology guidelines. Serves as department reference for obtaining optimal imaging for interpretation. Assists in teaching radiography students sound radiography principles. Assists and evaluates new employee and student department orientation and training as appropriate. Assists with patient and employee scheduling to enhance the productivity of depart as appropriate. Administers sound patient care practices according to hospital/department policies and procedures to ensure the safety of patients. Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent from patients and/or patients' charts to assist physicians in optimizing the performance and interpretation of examinations. Explains procedures to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation. Correctly identifies patients and their files while ensuring a high degree of accuracy. Tracks patients according to department procedures.



Lead Radiologic Technologist Additional Requirements 

Work schedule: Alternating (3)12 hour weekdays 06:15am -7:15 pm with call and holiday  Education: Graduate of an accredited radiology school or program. Licensure:  Licensed Radiologic Technologist Upon Start Must be licensed as required by the state of employment if employed at an Inova Health System free-standing Imaging Center not affiliated with an Inova hospital Certification: American Registered Radiologic Technologists Upon Start; Basic Life Support Upon Start Experience: Two years of Diagnostic X-ray experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a Radiologic Technologist
