Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.
Responsibilities:
Knowledgeable in all terminology related to radiography, anatomy, and pathology.
Strong interpersonal skills and pleasant bedside manner.
Gives straightforward instructions and answer questions as well as foster a sense of comfort and confidence in patients.
Prepares equipment and examination rooms for patient exams.
Positions, monitors, and ensures patient safety during exams.
Documents information into computers and reports important information to physicians.
Produces diagnostic images of soft tissues and uses sound waves to obtain images of organs and tissues in the body.
Administers targeted doses of radiation to the patient’s body as ordered by physician.
Administers trace amounts of radiopharmaceuticals to a patient to obtain functional information about organs, tissues, and bone.
Measures bone mineral density at a specific anatomical site.
Sets goals with Administrator to meet the high demand of radiology.
Handles all forms or paperwork as necessary.
Maintains confidentiality in talking with patients by upholding policies and setting an example.
Keeps work area neat and clear of clutter.
Demonstrates a willingness to perform the duties of other department personnel when needed.
Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of computer input required.
Must be able to perform radiology procedures.
Comprehends medical terminology required.
Good spelling and number skills required.
Clear, concise voice required.
Basic Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
