The 73-bed hospital is one of the most technologically advanced hospitals in the region. Responsibilities This position is accountable for operating the x-ray rooms, c-arms, and portables in a safe and proficient manner. Transportation of patients, handling telephone calls for scheduling patients, answering questions related to reports of exams. Must be able to handle patient support equipment, i.e. I.V. pumps, O2, etc. The incumbent helps clean rooms and equipment and order supplies, assist physicians with invasive procedures and administer basic C.P.R. The incumbent helps the supervisor in the daily operation of the Imaging department. This person must be a current student of or a graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology and Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or registry eligible. The incumbent must be able maintain a high standard of imaging with a minimum of repeats. A thorough knowledge of x-ray equipment, anatomy and positioning are essential for a quality exam. Must be able to handle multiple demands simultaneously and keep a helpful attitude toward patients, their families, office personnel, physicians, and associates. Must be able to coordinate patient prepping and scanning to maximize smooth patient flow. Must be able to help move patients when needed. Must demonstrate knowledge of contrast media injections and reactions. Will participate in performance improvement initiatives. Will assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day to day operation of the department. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his or her assigned area. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in the department's competency plan. Qualifications Job Requirements: Vocational/Technical Education ARRT or ARRT Registry eligible (within one year of hire) BLS (upon hire) Preferred Job Requirements: Previous radiology experience
