Job Overview:
The Cardiovascular Technician assists in the delivery of care to the patient undergoing cardiac catheterization ensuring optimum patient outcomes while achieving patient and family satisfaction. Assists physicians with various procedures performed in the Cath Lab. Read, be with familiar with, participate in periodic education/training regarding, and comply with the Corporate Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, and other corporate compliance policies.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Graduate or GED required.Radiology Technologist/Cardiovascular Technologist school graduate or equivalent required.Experience within a healthcare setting required.Preferred:

Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

Assists in maintaining the medical stability of the Cardiac Cath Lab patient throughout the procedure by monitoring vital signs, hemodynamic pressures and cardiac rhythms, reporting any deviation from normal to the physician.Functions as assistant to the physician during diagnostic and interventional procedures and pacemaker implantation maintaining sterile technique.Communicates changes in patient condition to professional staff particularly when patient is in pain or discomfort. Provide patient education pre and post procedure. Participates in the maintenance of the clean, safe and sterile environment by setting up the appropriate instruments under the sterile techniques for designated procedures. Participates in data collection in order to document compliance with regulations and measure the quality of patient outcomes. Maintains accurate records during procedures.Participates in activities to improve patient and family satisfaction.Monitors patient outcomes by participating in Performance Improvement activities.Benefits and Perks:
