Radiologic Technologist Clinic - Lab Asst 1
Overview The Radiologic Technologist Clinic – Lab Assist provides laboratory and radiology services by collecting clinical data for use in patient diagnosis and treatment. Rockford IL Hours will vary (PRN) Monday-Friday, Occassional Saturday, Not fulltime Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs high quality x-ray exams using the best techniques and proper positioning. Deliver lab and x-ray results to authorized personnel as required. Assists patients in whatever capacity is required, making sure to explain preparations and procedures. Uses PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) appropriately, minimizing errors. Properly set up lab and x-ray equipment for the day, maintaining a clean and orderly work area. Maintains current validation and performs waived and moderate complexity laboratory testing using manual reagents, kits, and instruments. Follows laboratory procedures and policies to assure test accuracy and to meet accreditation requirements. Communicates with laboratory facilitator regarding concerns and issues. Perform electrocardiogram tracing twelve lead, rhythm strip, and pacemaker, pediatric. Performs venipunctures, micro collection, to obtain blood specimens from babies, children, and adults. Collect all specimens (blood, urine, sputum, etc.) appropriately handling specimens after collection. Transfers patient test requests from scripts, requisitions, and verbal orders into the HIS, clinic, and laboratory computer systems to generate lists, labels, and billing information. Performs computer and clerical functions involved in testing process. Runs daily reports. Accurately uses basic functions of computer applications and software packages. (e.g. ordering, completing and tracking procedures). Maintain adequate lab and x-ray supplies. Assist other departmental staff as time and skills permit. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited limited scope radiography program Meet the ARRT examination requirements of chest, extremity, skull/sinus, and spine. Experience as a radiographer preferred Certification/Licensure ARRT Limited Scope of Practice in Radiography Examination (Preferred) IEMA-DNS IEMA-DNS Limited Radiograhy- Chest Extremity Skull/Sinus Spine Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
