Position Summary:
This position is responsible for performing radiological exams in a safe and prudent manner for the specific purpose of producing a diagnostic exam of the highest quality while creating a quality environment for the customer. Performs a full range of diagnostic radiography as required for Rad Tech I and in addition performs CT examinations and associated work as a registered technologist in CT.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
+ Graduated from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved program
Certification:
+ Washington State Radiologic Technologist Certification, RT (R)
+ Registered – ARRT(R) (CT) required. If training, CT advanced certification obtained within six (6) months of hire
+ CPR certification – Healthcare Provider (HCP) level required within three (3) months of hire
Experience:
+ Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in hospital setting preferred

+ Demonstrates competency in ability to care for customers/patients across the age continuum
Essential Functions:
+ Technical factors : Automatic exposure control is used appropriately. Technical factors (kvp, ma, time and distance) are accurately utilized. Appropriate cassette is used (regular, grid, etc.), collimation and tomographic factors are employed and assistance is given to the attending physician during exams.
+ Positioning techniques : Appropriate body parts are imaged and identified, views are acquired, and immobilization is employed. Practices good sterile techniques. Performs Computed Tomography Exams with and without power contrast injections.
+ Patient handling : Transports, transfers, and positions patients in a manner that is safe for the patient. Confirms that patient and exam preparations are appropriate. Evaluates patient’s mental and physical condition in order to avoid hazardous situations and does not leave alone, if their safety is questioned.
+ Clinical and Technical :
+ Know and understand Hospital, Departmental, and examination protocols.
+ Working knowledge of equipment, how to "trouble shoot" equipment, and when repairs are necessary how to contact the appropriate vendor.
+ Know how to do QA on films and on equipment.
+ Know how to schedule examinations. Review daily scheduled exams for corrections/additions/cancellations.
+ Make sure exams are completed to include Teleradiology of films.
+ Infection control principles.
+ Problem solving skills.
+ Accurate patient and image documentation in the HIS/RIS and PACS systems.
+ Performs SBAR as required and uses appropriate mechanism to document Monitors patient needs.
+ Monitors patient needs.
+ Performs necessary paperwork and archiving.
+ Administers contrast media when appropriate.
+ Proficient in starting IV’s.
+ May be assigned on-call standby shifts as needed by the department
+ Handles confidential information according to HIPAA regulations.
+ Specialized Equipment Setup:
+ Ability to adjust technical settings.
+ Ability to adjust physical parameters.
+ Positioning is appropriate for exam.
+ Acts as mentor to students from affiliated Radiology Technology Programs
+ Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
+ Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies. This includes, but is not limited to: security and safety, understanding of MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body mechanics.
+ Ensures self-compliance with organization policies and procedures, as well as labor agreements.
+ Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive with the organization’s values.
+ Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the organization.
+ Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, be handled in a manner necessary to meet organizational standards

Physical Requirements:
