Radiological Health Technical Advisor
Job Description: Acts as an advisor tothe radioactive materials section, a regulatory program responsible for theprevention and control of unnecessary radiation exposure to the occupationallyexposed, the general public, and the environment. Responsibilities: · Assists sectionadministrator in developing policies, procedures, objectives, and criteria forall sources of radiation. · Maintains liaison withfederal, state, and local organizations with regard to radiation matters. · Directs special studies,reviews and assists in the preparation of reports or their evaluation forspecific radiation problems such as contaminated site characterization,remediation and closure, waste disposal, transportation, emergency response,shielding designs, and new uses of radiation-generating equipment. · Participates inradiological emergency response activities as key player. · Develops training plansfor section staff and arranges for use of training resources. · Assists bureauadministrator in preparing budgets and related reports. · Develops and preparesproposals for contracts and grants. · Exhibits a clearunderstanding of the New Hampshire Rules for the Control of Radiation.
