Job Description:
Radiological Technologist
Executes ionizing radiation to patients in order to take x-ray images in the safest manner possible.
Prepares room, equipment, and materials as needed for patients daily.
Participates in CQI activities and provides input for improvement.
Provides directions to patients regarding radiologic exams. Provides education to patients in regard to their ordered exams.
Cleans and disinfects x-ray room and equipment after each exam.
Maintains adequate and proper records.
Prepares barium and other chemical mixtures for x-rays.
Responsible for the care of patients ranging in age from birth to death.
Must pass initial competency test and yearly competency testing thereafter.
Will assume other duties applicable to the operation of the Radiology Department as needed. Demonstrates flexibility of working hours to assure 24-hour departmental coverage, which may include on-call duty.
Must maintain current BLS.
Assures proper patient identification by utilizing the 2-step identification method.
Attends all educational functions and will adhere to all certifications required by State and Federal regulations. Attends all mandatory hospital and department meetings.
Maintains proper stock in department at all times.
Complies with the policies, principles, and activities established by the Code of Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Program.
Performs other duties as assigned by Director.
Maintains good attitude toward patients, staff, and the management team.
