Radiology Student

Maintains a safe environment and conducts patient education as necessary.  Under the guidance of a site radiologist, and direct supervision of a licensed radiologic technologist, administers contrast agents according to site-specific protocols.  Student follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.  Produces diagnostic procedures on anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site radiologist.

Reports to:  Director of Radiology or designated technician


Minimum Education
Currently enrolled in a two-year Radiologic Technology Program in an institution of higher learning.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Image quality competency completion required within 90 days.

Ability to accept on-call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts when acuity and/or census indicates need. Will need to be available to report to facility within 45 minutes of notification.

Required Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
