Conemaugh Physician Group is seeking a full-time Radiology Tech for CPG – Orthopedics. The Radiology Tech is responsible for performing a variety of radiology exams and laboratory draws for patients of all ages (neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics). Applies principles, theories and techniques of radiologic technology to produce reliable test results. Participates in the education of students from the SchoolofRadiologic Technology.

*Essential Responsibilities:*
Positions, transfers and properly immobilizes patients as required.
Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
Ten percent of time responsible for student supervision, assignments, and evaluations.
Follows safety procedures and guidelines and reports unsafe practices or conditions.
Applies technical knowledge and skills necessary to maintain procedural quality standards.
Reports the results within the specific time limits.
Maintains effective and efficient use of reagents, chemicals and supplies.
Provides accurate training to employees having less experience.
Participates in continuing education as required.
Maintains inventory bench supplies and is responsible for sectional housekeeping.
Responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance.
Recommends opportunities to improve quality, workflow and other pertinent issues.
Maintains appropriate commitment to the department schedule in terms of attendance and hours of work.
Performs all calibrations, quality control, instrument function verification and minor troubleshooting according to section’s procedure manual.
Recognizes, confirms and/or verifies test results that are unusual and verifies failures as described in the procedure manuals.
Responsible for verifying patient demographic and insurance information for proper billing of diagnostic orders including performing the patient
registration.
Courteous and professional interaction with our patients, physicians, nurses and other hospital personnel using our high five guiding principles.
Utilizes the SAIDET tool for communication with the patient.
Responsible for the proper collection of specimens in a manner consistent with Laboratory procedures, safe practices and patient comfort.
Follows all hospital guidelines regarding Standard Precautions (ex. PPE, gloving, hand washing, etc.).
Selects the appropriate specimen collection devices (ex. tubes, proper additives, etc.) in order to perform venipunctures according to the
Laboratory’s Phlebotomy/Specimen Collection procedure manual.
Must identify patients using at least two patient identifiers.
Maintains confidentiality regarding patient/employee information.
Provide appropriate care to patients of all ages (neonates to geriatrics).
Completes annual Radiation and MRI Safety. **
Employees may not work independently until they are ARRT (R) eligible and have graduated from a school of radiologic technology.**
*Job Qualifications:*
*Education: *
*Required:*Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology or currently enrolledwith anticipated graduation in 90 days.
*Experience:*
*Preferred: *
Radiology – One year of radiologic technology experience.
Laboratory – One year of laboratory experience.
Registration – Prior registration experience.
***Certification/Licensure/Registration:*
*Required: *
Radiology – ARRT (R) or eligible for registry upon graduation.
Must be AART registered within one year of hire.
CPR certification.
