Responsibilities
The CT/MRI Imaging Specialist performs general radiographic procedures, CT and MRI using advanced processing techniques.
Demonstrates competency in patient care while performing a broad range of imaging procedures including MRI/CT. The complete performance of cardiac CT and Breast MRI (MRI based on patient preference). (ACR program can substitute for either MRI Breast or CT cardiac angio)Uses AIDET for all patient interactions. .Introduces self and verifies patient identification using two patient identifiers. NPSG-1 Establishes or verifies patient symptoms and conditions through interview or review of medical record, recording information on the exam form while also communicating all pertinent information to the radiologist. . Using interpersonal skills to establish trust and build rapport with patientsMaintains and preserves patient privacy, dignity and comfort by using table pads, patient gowns, blankets and sheets to cover the patient during procedures.Demonstrates mastery of use of radiographic equipment and accessories, including CT scanner, post processing systems and MRI scanner.Qualifications
Minimum Required
California fluoroscopic permit. Three years experience in an Imaging Department. Five years experience in CT and five years experience in MRI in a Hospital setting. ARRT in MRI or CT within 1 year.current California State Department of Health Certification as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)Current AHA BLSCT RTT;CT RTTFKnowledge of: anatomy and physiology for Imaging including, cross sectional relationships, medical terminology related to Imaging procedures, principles of operation and care of radiologic, CT and MRI equipment currently accepted diagnostic radiologic, special procedures, mammography, CT or MRI procedures, radiation safety requirements and practices for the operator, patient and public, film processing systems, mechanical and electrical safety practices and requirements in the patient examination environment.
