Job Description:
Radiology Tech Team Lead
40 Hours Weekly, Full Time, Second Shift (4 - 10 Hour Shifts)
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Coordinator will oversee the daily flow of patients through the department and coordinate daily exam assignments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is a list of the major and minor functions of this individual’s job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
1. Oversees and controls the daily flow of work through the department to ensure staff and patient productivity expectations.
2. Maintain quality control on all assigned instrumentation.
3. Collects patient histories and other related information, coordinating and communicating with the radiologist and all others as needed.
4. Provides radiation protection measures.
5. Properly positions and monitors patients when doing imaging examinations and during the procedure.
6. Administers contrast media under the direction of a physician and in accordance with department policy.
7. Utilizes sterile technique and assists with invasive procedures.
8. Responsible for patient and technologist schedules in the absence of the Section Coordinator.
9. Transports patients in a secondary capacity, when transporters are not available and dictated by necessity.
10. Sets a positive example for staff through professional knowledge, appearance, personal conduct and interactions.
11. Informs the Section Coordinator, Clinical Manager and / or Director of staffing problems and difficulties.
12. Oversees and directs technologists and ancillary staff in work areas and quality.
13. Responsible for the care and condition of technical equipment related to the job.
14. Reports malfunctions and problems to the proper persons, including management personnel.
15. Interacts with the Radiologists and management to solve immediate difficulties within the section.
16. Participates in in-service and training activities as necessary.
17. Recommend the procurement of supplies, equipment and area modifications necessary for operations.
18. Must be able to work with all levels of personnel in the Radiology Department.
19. Participates in the interview process for open positions in section.
20. Provides input for annual evaluations and assists in competency checks.
Requirements:
Graduate of an approved school for radiologic technology.
Active KBMIRT at time of hire. ARRT within 90 days of hire.
Current CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
Management experience preferred.
