This is your chance to contribute to the health and well-being of our community, on a schedule that works for you. **About the Role** As a Per Diem Radiology Technologist, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care. You'll perform a variety of standard x-ray examinations and potentially fluoroscopic and surgical procedures, utilizing your expertise to achieve optimal diagnostic results. This dynamic position involves preparing exam rooms, organizing daily schedules, integrating patient history for optimized exams, and providing essential patient education. We value adaptability and your ability to make informed decisions to address patient care needs as they arise, always prioritizing radiation safety and infection control. **Compensation and Benefits** This position offers a competitive hourly wage, ranging from **$39.41 to $58.63,** with the hiring rate dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. As a valued member of the PeaceHealth team, even in a per diem capacity, you'll have access to a 403b retirement plan for your contributions, along with wellness benefits, a discount program, and expanded EAP and mental health support. **Key Responsibilities** + Prepare, supply, and equip exam room to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures. + Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required. + Integrates previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history and medical records to optimize exam. + Perform most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary. + Provides patient education and instruction prior to and after examination. Provide training/education to staff and students as indicated. + Demonstrates ability to adapt exam to address problems of patient care as they arise making decisions to appropriately resolve problems. + Performs x-ray examinations applying appropriate infection control and radiation safety measures. + Applies ALARA principle to ensure appropriate radiation safety for self patient, and visitor. Evaluates patient for pregnancy prior to exam as indicated. + May perform surgical x-ray examinations, will utilize appropriate radiation safety measures and adhering to AORN standards. + Performs other patient care activities, duties and responsibilities as assigned consistent with Caregivers’ scope of practice, training, experience, and license/certification/registration. **Skills & Qualifications We're Looking For** **Education:** Graduation from an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology is required. **Experience:** A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is preferred. Recent graduates within 30 days of graduation and ARRT-eligible are welcome to apply; ARRT(R) certification is required within 3 months of hire. **Demonstrated Knowledge:** Ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs. **Competencies:** Demonstrated venipuncture competency and PACS/RIS knowledge are required. **Credentials:** + Washington Radiology Technologist license required. + ARRT - Radiography certification required. + Recent graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program may work when ARRT eligible, under WA Temporary X-Ray Technician Registration (limited scope license) pending ARRT certification.
