Radiology Technologist Assistant

More than 2,500 team members at more than 70 Tidelands Health locations bring our healing mission to life each day. **A Brief Overview** The primary responsibility of this position is to produce high quality radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner under the guidance of a Radiologist Technologist. **What you will do** + Obtain patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner; verifies informed consent and completes pre and post procedure documentation + Position and immobilize patients to best demonstrate anatomy area of interest, respecting patient ability and com10fort + Perform radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment, and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures + Assist licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures. Apply appropriate aseptic surgical technique as needed, and identify, prepare and/or administer medications/contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner + Perform timeout as required per policy + Evaluate images for technical quality + Provide patient education + Transport patients as necessary + Restock rooms and maintain cleanliness of work area **Education Qualifications** + High School Diploma or equivalent, and must be entering second year of a JRCERT accredited School of Radiography Required **Skills and Abilities** + Demonstrated ability to set and maintain multiple priorities in an environment with shifting priorities, while providing accurate deliverables in a timely fashion + Must be self-motivated, and able to take ownership of projects/assignments + Must be a team player with excellent follow-up and customer service skills + Strong interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills + Interpersonal skills in dealing with patients and team members **Licenses and Certifications** + Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Required + Limited Practice Radiographer - South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Required **PAT Rating** Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating The intent of this job description is to provide a representative and level of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as a contract for employment nor a declaration of the total of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position.
