**Job Summary**
The Radiologic Technologist Clinic is responsible for performing and assisting with diagnostic radiology procedures in surgery, pain management and other clinical areas within the Clinic facility. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
**Qualifications**
+ Associate Degree graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology required
+ 1-3 years Clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist required
**Licenses and Certifications**
+ ARRT Radiography Certification required
+ Licensed Radiologic Technologist As required by state required
+ BCLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire required
**Essential Functions**
+ Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and members of staff.
+ Evaluates radiographs for technical quality.
+ Assists physicians in administering prescribed contrast agents for all procedures. Administer first-aid as required and assist in cases of adverse reactions to contrast media or in other emergencies.
+ Assists physicians with biopsy procedures; administer dressings as appropriate; deliver biopsy samples to laboratory and monitor vital signs of patients as necessary.
+ Performs cleanliness and sanitary procedures and prepare and maintain rooms as required.
+ Operates mobile x-ray equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient’s bedside.
+ Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
+ Ensures safe operation and manipulation of imaging equipment for exposure factors for procedures.
+ Performs radiographic and fluoroscopy procedures as prescribed by physicians for procedures and as per approved protocols.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Demonstrates knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures of diagnostic radiology.
+ Ensures appropriate use of screening tools for patients prior to the performance of any procedure.
+ Applies independent, professional, ethical and critical thinking to ensure the accuracy of the procedure.
+ Practices radiation safety techniques by using appropriate technique and shielding for the patient, self and others.
+ Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development across the lifespan and is competent in age-appropriate imaging and patient care.
+ Demonstrates competence of the Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS.
+ Always complies with HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements and is compliant with required annual training.
