Your work environment at EXP

In this role you will be a part of the Rail and Infrastructure group in the Chicago office. We are an entrepreneurial, multidisciplinary firm of approximately 4,400 professionals across North America with a history of successfully delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects across North America.  

 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

As Design Manager, you will serve as the primary day-to-day liaison between the design team and the construction team in a design-build relationship, overseeing both commercial and technical matters. You will have prior experience managing multi-billion dollar design build rail and infrastructure projects in urban environments. This role requires physical in-person presence in Chicago on a weekly basis.

 

What your experience looks like

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Architecture  Professional Engineer or Registered Architect required 15+ years of experience in managing design for multi-disciplinary rail and transit infrastructure projects. Design-build experience Specific experience with railway design including, civil, track, signal, operations control and communication systems, rail systems integration, power systems, bridge design, complex foundations, station design and design in environmental sensitive areas. Ability to work with local agencies and complex stakeholder groups to successfully deliver projects. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise a multi-discipline design team. Strong leadership, project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment
